What’s been happening:

Milestones: I published my first book, James A. Banks and the Evolution of Multicultural Education: Implications for Teacher Educators and Curriculum Development by Wheatmark Press, in 2007. I received the Forum on Black Affairs 32nd Annual Humanitarian Award at the Martin Luther King Jr. Annual Dinner at the Penn Stater Conference Center. I received the 2008 Colonel Theodore Davis Boal Mansion Memorial Day Award for Community Service and Academic Advising in the College of Education at Penn State. I completed my first three-year term on the Penn State Alumni Council (2006-2009). My daughter Victoria Andrea completed an MBA in 2008 and was recruited to work for NIKE in Beaverton, Oregon. My middle daughter Mia Marie Jackson completed a BS in Journalism and Women's Studies and African American Studies. My son Andrew Jr. completed an Associate of Arts at Full Sail Real World Recording School in Orlando, Florida. My wife Victoria completed 30 years with the Department of Public Welfare and the Department of Economic and Community Development for the State of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Retired from the College of Education at Penn State with 20 years of service as an academic adviser/counselor in the Office of Certification Services and Recruitment September 30, 2007. I am currently a guest teacher for the State College School District in State College, Pa.
